Bridge Stud and Thumbwheel Set for Gibson Vintage or Historic ABR-1 • Absolute Vintage Collection • NOS or LIX Patina Nickel

$ 40.00
Please note that more of these are now in production and will ship in approximately 8 weeks. We've decided to take pre-orders during this time to help streamline demand. Taking advantage of this pre-order offers two benefits:
  • Assurance that your set is reserved, and will be among the first to ship.
  • A better price. Once released, the second run will sell for approximately 10% more than the price offered here, and will not include studs.

CreamTone and Mark's Guitar Loft present this TruVintage wheel set, part of our Absolute Vintage Collection of replica parts.

There are a number of reissue thumbwheels on the market that are somewhat close but none are correct. This is because the exact knurling tool that was used for the original '50s thumbwheels is no longer in use. We had the best machine shop in the country take measurements and inspect every detail on an original set of ‘50s thumbwheels provided by Charlie Daughtry (Thank you Charlie. You rock!). We even counted the number of teeth on the originals and matched that! Then, we made a brand-new knurling tool that is the only of its kind.

These wheels are the correct thickness and weight—made of nickel-plated brass with no copper under the nickel.

Once they were done, we sent a set to Charlie and his reaction was "My LORD!!!! They hit this one out of the ballpark. I just can't tell you how impressed I am with these things. Thanks guys for paying attention to the details!"

This set is ideal for the restoration of an original burst or replacing the wheels on a Historic to make it more authentic. Quite simply, unless you have an original set of 50s wheels or a TruVintage set on your guitar, your wheels are not vintage correct!

Choose your finish from the menu at the top of this description: NOS (new and shiny) or aged LIX Patina. LIX is the Roman numeral for 59. Aged CreamTone parts have the look of well-worn pieces from that era.

Pre-order sets will include studs!

Handcrafted in USA.
