Bridge and Tailpiece Set for Gibson USA Models • ABR-1 • NOS or LIX Patina Nickel
Our nickel, non-wire ABR-1 bridge and lightweight aluminum tailpiece set is designed to replace your Nashville bridge with no mods to your guitar!
Upgrade your Gibson USA Les Paul (Standard, Traditional, Classic, etc.) to vintage spec with the vibe of a Custom Shop Historic! This set will not only give your guitar a vintage appearance but it will open up the tone and responsiveness due to the superiority of the materials over stock hardware. Best of all, it's no longer necessary to perform surgery on your guitar to make the switch—the special posts screw right into the Nashville bushings for a hassle-free installation!
The bridge is made of zinc alloy with brass saddles. The tailpiece is made from featherweight aluminum. The aluminum is plated with no copper under the nickel, just like the originals from the 50s. It's a more labor-intensive process but we think it's worth the extra time to do it right. We also roll the edges of the tailpiece for a more vintage appearance.
Includes steel bridge and tailpiece studs and brass bridge thumbwheels. The bridge studs have a small allen wrench hole machined into one end so that they can be easily adjusted for height even after the bridge is installed on the guitar. If you've ever experienced an ABR-1 stud that protrudes from the bridge hole and digs into your hand when you play, you'll especially appreciate this feature. Adjustment wrench included.
We now offer, as an option, to slot and polish the bridge saddles because many of our customers have asked for it. We slot them in the center for the best universal fit. However, we continue to recommend that the bridge be on your guitar before the saddles are cut so that the strings can be properly aligned with the polepieces of the pickups and the edges of the fingerboard.
Choose your finish from the menu at the top of this description: NOS (new and shiny) or aged LIX Patina. LIX is the Roman numeral for 59. Aged CreamTone parts have the look of well-worn pieces from that era.
