Gibson produced two versions of the Flying V Custom. The first was the 2016 model. It sold for $5999 and featured Custombucker pickups, an ABR-1 bridge, and gold top hat knobs. The second version was released in 2017. It sold for $4199 and featured 490R & T pickups, a Nashville bridge, and black speed knobs. Every other feature of the two guitars was identical. That's $1800 for upgraded pickups, bridge and knobs.
We acquired this 2017 model from a collector in mint condition. It is as flawless as any new guitar of its kind. So we set about to make it better than the first version, and offer it for the price of the second! Here's what we did:
Replaced the Nashville bridge with our gold NOS ABR-1 RockLock bridge with Kalamazoo Conversion System.
Replaced the pickups with our A3 Deluxe with NOS gold covers in the correct vintage shape.
Replaced the ceramic disc capacitor with our very best PIO .022 Bumblebee from the Absolute Vintage Collection.
Replaced the black speed knobs with our NOS gold top hats.
Includes the Custom Shop OHSC, COA, paperwork and tags, along with a CreamTone build sheet and COA.
This is an opportunity to own a 2017 Flying V Custom for the same price as the new guitar at the big-box stores. But unlike those, this is a very special instrument you'll be proud to take onstage night after night.
