Pickguard Bracket for Gibson Les Paul • Absolute Vintage Collection
The nickel plating on many of the parts on the original Bursts has worn away with age, exposing raw metal. This is why the parts on reissues don't look authentic when compared side-by-side with original pieces. Raw steel ages differently than nickel plate. When you also consider that most repro parts have a layer of copper under the nickel, you can count on those parts turning pink as the nickel wears with age, exposing the rosy copper.
We make these from unplated steel and polish them by hand for a soft sheen that will age on its own. This is the only bracket available that, with age, will look identical to the part on an original vintage guitar.
Cut to the correct vintage shape, with square corners in the slot.
